CREC University of Hartford Magnet School has joined over 145 Green LEAF Schools in Connecticut who are committed to reducing environmental impact, improving health and wellness, and providing environmental education

Congratulations to Mrs. Lebel, Mrs. Vincenzo, and Ms. Kohnle on their retirement! Our staff and students planned a surprise flower parade through the halls of UHMS.

We celebrated our 2021 Fifth Grade Promotion outside in the UHMS parking lot. What a lovely event!

Our new outdoor learning chalkboard structures have arrived and were installed with the help of UHMS volunteers. We are so excited to start using our new spaces for outdoor learning!

Second graders recently learned about and participated in the invention process. They presented their inventions to panels of judges and now some of our inventors are heading to the (virtual) CT Invention Convention!

Racial Justice Action Week - January 11-15

Our third and fifth graders are kicking off a Pen Pal Project with the University of Hartford Women's and Men's Basketball Teams!

We are finding new ways to be outside in the fresh air as we continue our learning!

We are excited to announce that UHMS has been selected as a winner of the PwC Charitable Foundation Innovation Lab Challenge! Our Cubelet robots have arrived, and our kindergarten classes got to try them out this week.

Our school tradition of weekly Friday Family Meetings continues, thanks to our music teacher Mrs. Lambert!
